@projectsaa3 I agree- a boat have to give way to boats from starboard, however as you say both ships have a responsibility to avoid collision, and the way they should do that (unless anything else is agreed upon between both vessels) is for both to go to starboard. (Im guessing you know this, but in case anyone dont, i thought it would be nice to inform them ;) )

Clearly the large yacht was supposed to yeild. BUT that large yacht isn't 100% at falt because the USCG rules dictate you must do any and all things possible to avoid a collision... In those conditions to have an accident like this with passengers, neither captain is worth what i left floating in the bowl this morning..

two captains who weren't paying attention and the owners of those yachts are really pissed.
