  • @rosemalia- You have your opinion on how strength is or isn't built, and the Russian dance schools have theirs. Between you and them, I wonder who has produced the most ballet stars? Russia is best at ballet for a reason- the way they train their dancers is a large part of it. You can agree with it or not, but if you don't then don't bother watching Russian dancers, period.

  • @rosemalia Spoken like an American who understands nothing of Russian training.

Look, Russia isn't commenting on your recreational dolly dinkle schools. Why don't you pipe down and let Russia continue to produce the world's most beautiful and influential dancers in the world as they always have?

  • @rosemalia you don't get good at ballet by someone telling you your good. People are lazy too so its good to have a teacher that tough. Frankly that teacher is probably one of the best in the business and I'm sure her students loved her teaching

  • @xxxSaraxhxxx anyone who makes it into the school is dedicated enough that they would not wish to throw away their chance of a career in ballet because of the harsh environment. Russian teachers are known for their strictness, and it apparently isn't such a horrible method because dancers from other countries compete for admittance to the school (including RAB students). it is generally considered to be the best academy in the world - because hard work and commitment get results.

  • So thought would give an update, have just seen the Mariinsky in Covent Garden London and noticed Oksana Skorik dancing as a corphee with some solo roles in Don Q and others. She has also been well mentioned in the British press. Saw her after with her friends and she seemed happy healthy and is obviously an extremely talented dancer doing well. Good Luck to her!

  • seems abusive to me.

  • @sweetminttt Wrong. You be be obese and be anorexic. No certain "look" is needed to be anorexic. It's your eating and mental habits that make you an anorectic.

  • Why does ballet have to be so serious, super thin, and depressing? Why can't ballerina's enjoy dancing and smile?

  • @VampsAreLovee anyway the royal ballet school is one of the worst schools to learn ballet I'm sorry! everybody thinks it's so good but its not they teach crap and wreck beautiful bodies ! My friend was the best dancer in my russian school and when she left the RBS she had lost all her beautiful dancing!

  • @rosemalia spoken like a person who clearly doesn't have any clue what ballet is like outside the world of pink tutu's and happy faces on stage.

Russia creates the most wonderful dancers and how they do it is their own business.

  • There is nothing "beautiful and influential" about a life with an eating disorder. These girls are not only dancers, they are human beings.
