When recording with the internal iSight camera, there is an 8K whistle during the entire clip. That is, if you let it find its own settings in darkly lit rooms. If you record in sunlight or high lighting conditions, the noise goes away.

  • FINALLY! Someone who figured out the problem. Kudos to you, DavidPierron. I must spread the word!

  • I returned the MacBook and went with a MacBook Pro, the noise is gone, but now there's audio sync problems. I bought in August 2008, new models came out in October. Major bummer and I wasted about $1000 and got less hardware. But I do have anti-glare screen. WooHoo!

  • i can still hear it even with the flashlight up... but the 'revolutions' of the high pitch noise goes up so high, that its almost unnoticeable. you'll notice that the brighter you get, the more frequent you hear the cadence of that noise. so i'm not sure that blocking autoexposure would even solve this problem... even when it's got an exposure it likes, it's still there... just at a different rate.

  • it's autoexpsure of the isight the problem. When it's dark tha autoexposure start to work makign that noise because it is too near to the mic. You must block the isight auto exposure, but i dont with what. iglasse isn't ok cause it's software. we need a block for autoexposure.
