A Democrat US Congressman in Leadership: "What good is reading the [Health Care] bill?"

Just days before a possible vote on a 1,000+ page bill which will cost over $1 Trillion, increase taxes on (already struggling) small businesses, and taking away consumer choice in health care, Democrat John Conyers (Michigan) continues the Democrat Plan of "Pass First & Pay Later".

  • Apparently Obama didn't 'Read the Bill' Arizona passed before he sued them over it. Maybe liberals can't read?

  • It's a known fact that over 90% of the bills do not get read, but pass! They basically do it by a phone call for the vote. It's a totally broken system today. It's the lobbyists who really write our laws. Special Interests writing bills that enhance their industry.

Our government is made up of officials who are in it for the power, money & perks that come with the spotlight. There is no "transpancy" as Barak wishes you to believe. Ron Paul - audit the Fed. HR1207 114 dems voted it down.

  • What an insult to hard-working Americans!

What fool doesn't read a contract before signing it?

    I'm just sayin!

  • But anyways, if they dont have time to read and understand a bill then they shouldnt freakin pass it, morons!

  • That way we would know exactly what is meant to be in the bill and no extra stuff can be snaked inbetween the lines.

  • This pre-bill would be help supreme over the actual 1000 page bill in that anything found in the 1000 page bill that does not directly agree (without interpretation) with the outline pre-bill would be void!

  • I dont know all of the correct terminology so bear with me, but in response to these 1000 page bills and ridiculus deadlines to sign (that are obviously put into place to take advantage of the system) I think that there should be a sort of pre-bill that gets read and signed first before the official bill. This pre-bill would outline the direct points that the bill means to accomplish, in plain english and be no more than 20-50 pages or w/e can be read and understood in 1 day.
