In an television interview along with her two network colleagues, Charlie Gibson of ABC and Brian Williams of NBC, Katie Couric, anchor of CBS News (and formerly of NBC's Today Show), characterizes the coverage by journalists during the lead up to the Iraq War as "one of the most embarrassing chapters in American journalism." Couric speaks candidly of the political and corporate pressure placed on journalists to quash negative reporting that would go against the administration's posturing on the war.
Charles Gibson is the only non-idiot out of them all. Couric is loony for sure, and Willams is just not that objective. Gibson is a straight shooter and a fact finder. Worthy successor to the late Peter Jennings

The most embarrassing chapter in American Journalism is written nightly, by Katie Couric, everytime they turn on a camera and point it at her. She has no real thoughts, she simply follows the TMZ and Access Hollywood approach of endorsing the latest trend-of-the-day thinking, whatever that might be. She is as deep as a puddle, rich as a Clinton, and as dumb as a rock.
