Creatures 2 Introduction

The opening/introductory movie for the artificial life game Creatures 2. The movie file itself was converted by Amaikokonut, so most of the credit for this being here goes to her.




"Creatures 2 is the second game in the Creatures artificial life game series made by Creature Labs. It features three species: the cute, dependent Norns, the cantankerous Grendels and the industrious Ettins. The game tries to simulate life, and includes a complex two-dimensional ecology of plants, animals and insects, which provide the environment for the three main species to live and develop in. The player interacts with the world using a hand-shaped cursor, and tries to encourage the creatures' development by manipulating various objects around the world, guiding the creatures using the cursor and encouraging the creatures to speak." - Wikipedia's entry on Creatures 2.

Just thought that some of you might like to know that Creatures: The Albian Years (ie: C1 & C2), Creatures Exodus (ie: C3 & DS) and Creatures Village are just $5 each for the next couple of days or so until Good Old Games' holiday sale ends. It's a great deal that's well worth taking advantage of, so get them cheap while you still can!

Any one know where this game can even be found? I miss this game so much, I played it as a kid without knowing what most of the chemicals were. I'm a senior in high school now, and I'm taken biology, chem, physics II, and Anatomy. I have such a better understanding of the things that went wrong. but my disc is so beat up it won't work.

@LupitaV1214 Actually you can now buy every one of the Creatures games from gog.com, and for C2 it's pretty much essential (original copies of C2 very rarely work on newer versions of windows).

The C2 and C3 intros were so goofy! The first one is the best one. Great music, and it explains itself with no narration at all. I guess that's harder to do when you're introducing storylines to the games, though.

Steve Grand is working on a project called "Grandroids".

As Creatures IS Steve Grand, a "Creatures" made by a money whoring company simply isn't "Creatures" to begin with.

omg I cant find this ANYWERE.. its a shame becouse when i was younger i used to LOVE this game.. hahaha I remeber not knowing they could breed and going on and seeing new creaturs and sayng: wtf? were did that come from!! XD ahh :') the good old days..

Creatures 4 is legit, it's being developed by a company called Fishing Cactus for PC, Mac and iPhone.

As someone who loved the original series, I'm a bit skeptical.....
