  • The frypan I use has a glass lid so we are getting some convection and heat transfer from the top of the board as well. There is a quite noticeable difference in reflow performance between lid on and off.

  • whole process is completed in the frypan with a controller that ramps the temps up & down according to my program - I'll get around to a video with the whole process in solder paste application and component placement one day!

  • Interesting to see how the surface tension of the solder pulls all the components into alignment with the pads .. :)

  • @Skitzo520 no most of the time "reflow soldering" is for reatching loose connections on chips but also for attaching them and i guess you could probaly use it to remove the chip tho ive never tried to myself
