He's wearing an F-14 patch,which has been phased out due to maintenance costs;too bad that was a heck of a bird. As far as the lyrics "...all hands on deck...",the F-14 was only a 2 seater fighter/bomber,so he'd only be talking to one other person,who would NOT be asleep because it was his job to release weapons,and counter-measures should they be necessary.
Others have already said this was made in 1986,well Naked Raygun "Rat Patrol" was made in '85 and is even more prophetic.Lyrics coming.

Fantastic song, as fresh as it was when I lowered the stylus onto it in 86, how scary it's the same shit on the news. My 14 year old son thought this was current, done this month. In amongst the ruffled shirts of the 80's where a tiny number of musical political/observers, these where one of them.
