So, today I'm headed to a different dealership in Cockeysville, MD. After 3 visits with my current dealership, replacement of steering dampener, control arm and ball joints, I'm still getting the DW. I have 06 Wrangler Unlimited, 6 spd, with 38.6K miles and no modificications. I'm glad that I have the Max Care with the $100 deductible--I'm still annoyed though.

@GuinnyXth ive owned a crap ton of jeeps and have had tires temperately fix the DW but it always comes back on most case's ive found it to be the mount for the trackbar wearing the bolt hole and causing slop or extreme U-joint wear i would look at the trackbar first though cuzz the u-joints tend to make a ton of noise when they go out on the front axles

@BigEvilScotsman I guess the jeep garage told you the same thing "it must be the tires". I think they know the problem but don't want to recall many cars so they gave instruction to the jeep garages what to say to the clients facing the DW.

DW is not caused by tires, if the tires fixed it it wasn't DW

i was wheelin in a jeep cherokee w/2in lift today im fixin to buy with a horrible death wobble, any estimate as to how much to fix? i think its combination of tie rod end and wheel bearing

I suddenly started to have death wobble in a 3.5 inch lifted tj with 35 procomp tires, and it was because of a loose track bar, after fixing this everything was back to normal.

I have the same problem just after i replacing the loose ball joint ,, it only happens when i slow down ... can anyone advice what else i can do to fix this problem ?

still have this problem and when i take it to the dealer they look at me like im crazy......there is a service bulletin out about this

I had that problem too. It was a blown steering stabilizer, a shock absorber type of device in the front suspension. I bought it online for about $50. Rides like new now.
We fixed the wobble in this case with new tires a few days later. However, this is not always the case... just about any suspension, steering, or tire issue can cause the DW.
