  • I did not understand everything. Can you help me fill in the holes and/or correct the sentences wrong? A: I saw you when I was in the greenhouse stealing those grapes what it seeemed to me...you looked to me angry and gentle... (???) and during our last night (???) you didn't sleep, did you? M: how did you know? A: I saw you last night (???) I was watching you (???) not much longer in this country (???) Thank you! :)
  • After angry and gentle the words are "both together" (I think). And instead of "during our last night" I think he says "And do you remember last night when the piano got wet". Then after Maurice asks "How did you know?" Alec replies "I saw you leaning out the window". After that the gist of it is that he hasn't got much longer in the country, as you say, but I'm not sure of his exact words...He is mumbling a bit, so it's not that clear.

  • I love this scene, and I hate that it was deleted from the movie. This scene was actually in the book, and it was nailed down to a T by the script! The movie actually stuck quite well to the book, which you don't see much of these days. I love the look on Scudders and Maurice's face, they look scared and amazed both at the same time.

  • In the comentary on the DVD, I think it was James Ivory, who said he always regretted not including this scene in the final cut. In retrospect, he said, he owed it to Maurice the character. I understand his sentiments completly.

  • @bittenroses I just bought this dvd! its amazing!

  • The way Scudder plays with Maurice's hair reveals that he's been watching him for days. He's been attracted by Maurice since the first time he saw him, and now that he's finally in bed with him he takes the most of it.

  • Oh my. The look in Maurice's eyes from around 1:25, like he's afraid that Alec might be just made of dreams and ether after all. The way Alec plays with Maurice's hair around 1:43 and you can see him starting to smile, like he doesn't know what to do with his hands but he knows he needs to be touching him because it's such a good thing. The pained look on Maurice's face when he's trying to get closer, closer to Alec and then his little gasp of relief as he reaches under the blanket at 1:50. Yes.

  • Lol light off

    bang light ON!!haha

  • Okay, as many have said, why was this deleted from the film? Any scene that further cements how much Maurice and Alec were into each other is always welcome, considering we were only given a handful and each one is amazing.

  • oh..my..gosh...why on earth did they delete this?!this scene is very important to understand Alec's actions and the relationship of these 2men.I read the book after watching the movie because there were some parts that weren't exactly clear to me,and I thought the book will help (and it did). This scene answers a lot of questions. This is what made clear how desperately in love Scudder is with Maurice, and how and why Maurice fell for him literally overnight..

  • I got chills at the end when it flashes back to colour as Maurice pins Scudder's hands down lol don't know why! I guess its just that good! I wish this scene had been included it's beautiful and Alec is so affectionate with Maurice! ♥ love them and I'm glad they got their happy ending

  • I have just watched all the Deleted Scenes and it was a great tragedy that they were not included as they are all powerful in one way or another, this scene is beautiful. I liked the film when I first saw it but a remastered version would be wonderful and add so much to the story, the romance and the feelings between the 3 men. I hope one day its released in a directors cut. Thank you very much for all the uploading and allowing me and many others the delight to watch these scenes.

  • I love this little intimate pillow talk scene. Give more insight to their relationship.

  • This scene should have been left in. It brings home to viewers that Alec is madly in love with Maurice. And has been from the moment he first saw him.
