@klausboedker i tried i even called nikon and spoke to someone but they told me that nikons are made like that to save battery life or something but that doesnt seem right there should be an option idk i didnt want to deal with that anymore so i ended up getting a canon instead.

i just bought this camera a couple of days ago, i'm not familiar with those apperture,etc.. but i'm willing to learn. Do you have any tutorials on how to make a good photo using this camera? except using the auto-mode ofcrse, thanks a lot, your video really helps

i was gonna buy one but not sure what VR means? is it like IS (inage stabalization?
some have VR...some dont. what do you suggest?

@ammaretto yep, VR (Vibration Reduction) is similar to Canon's IS (Image Stabilization). Just to be clear, the VR is built into the lens, not the camera. Personally, I am a big fan of VR. When looking for a D3000, look for one that is coupled with the 18-55mm VR kit lens. Great lens.

i just recently purchased this camera and i love it the only thing i don't like is that the display screen goes black after 5 seconds if im not using it. and even when im looking at pictures. i dont know if its defective or theres something i have to do to change it.

@pynk20 it sounds like your play back display time is set to 5 s. You can adjust that in the menu, making it longer.
