why do you cut the cord (spelling) right after the baby is born? in sweden we wait like.. 5 minutes.

Erin's cord was cut soon after she was born because she had been in distress before and during labor. She spent 10 days in NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), but got to go home months earlier than was predicted!

I wish we could have been blessed with a normal uneventful pregnancy and delivery, but that wasn't the case for us. I'm eternally grateful to our doctors and nursing staff at Mercy Hospital here in Oklahoma City that took such great and loving care of us!!

i just had a 34 weeker at 4.12lbs too.... and she also came out very fast! but they told me preemies r like that

Very well done, yet i can not help to say how LUCKY you and your baby girl were. 10 days in NICU is awesome! Our baby girl was born at 31.3 weeks but had a complete left sided CDH and did not make it out of the NICU and she survived 6 days. We never got to hear her cry....... You are all so very lucky :)
