Medical Marijuana unfortunately when legalized leads to tremendous abuses by the general populous. Where I used to live, Los Angeles County, there have been pot shops set up on nearly every other corner. It has also burdened law enforcement to a greater extent and has caused significant harm to some of California's lower class communities. Drug abuse is the leading cause of child abuse.

I agree that drug abuse is a huge problem in the U.S., but the biggest problem-causing drugs are alcohol and pills, not marijuana. These are LEGAL, and marijuana is SAFER!

Morphine and percocet messes up you body way more than marijuana ever would. My father broke 9 vertebrates in his back when he was struck head on by a drunk driver. Less than a year later he died from liver failure from the side effects of the painkillers he was prescribed. If medical marijuana was available then he might have lived to see me graduate high school.
