I think anyone with half a brain knows that he meant that people wanted Canada IN PARTICULAR to lose, that is, more than other opposing teams in the tournament. It was a very valid point.

@mdd4696 For me,the Heritage Classic in Calgary this past February was better,maybe just because of my sentimental attachment to Calgary along with being a Flames fan.

Wayne is absolutely right about the classic! For me, the first one was special and I watched it on tv. Haven't readlly cared about any of the others since.

i seriously doubt it. did u ever see gretz throw a body check? no, so why would he need shoulder pads.he wore the absolute minimum for increased mobility.

he's putting on shoulder pads for the heritage classic game. i assume he wore heavier padding when he played real nhl games. the heritage classic was just for fun.
