An ode to Woolies and a warning to businesses who don't get a good grasp of who they are and who they're selling to.

  • The lyrics are: Well it's goodbye to Woolworths The credit crunch has taken its due The sales are no more and you've closed down the door And the town won't be the same without you It's goodbye to Woolies We had a feeling it couldn't last You hung on for years and you were run by old dears And now you're consigned to the past I suppose I never really shopped there And I don't know anyone who did I remember rummaging for LPs and singles In bargain bins when I was a kid
  • So there's a lesson here for us all That businesses often ignore If you don't want customers to walk out the door You better have what they're looking for Because we all tend to do everything Be all things to all man But the jack of all trades is master of none And your business will go down the pan So it's goodbye to Woolworths The credit crunch knocked you for six But when you've said your last goodnight and turned out the light Where are we going to get our pick 'n' mix?

  • This is a great song!

  • Great stuff Ayd

  • Top man!!!

  • complete tosh and full of press garbage. "a jack of all trades is master of none"... try telling that to Tesco who make a billion pounds a year in profits being a jack of all trades!

  • You might be a bit busy on the lyrics front over the coming months Ayd. :)

It's all part of the revolution going on. Something dies, but something new always takes its place.

Thing is, we need to ask ourselves are we on the new side, or the old.

If you need to move from the old to the new, and get thinking creatively, ask Ayd!

  • Genius!!!!!

    Bravo!

  • Ha!! Great stuff Ayd. Sad but true

  • Very funny! A little less Picking and Mixing I suppose...

But Pound shops are the new Woolies now, aren't they. Same old tat, but much cheaper. (For a little while it looked like you could actually buy a Woolies store in Poundland)
