Hubble and the James Webb Space Telescope

The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has provided views of the very distant Universe for over 18 years. Its replacement, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), is a joint project of ESA, NASA and the Canadian Space Agency, scheduled for launch in 2013.

russell you mess, NASA's or ESA's job is not to provide food for starving kids. They work at uncovering the beginnings of the universe, many lives will be improved knowing this information. Human instinct is not to think "We could find out the origins of the universe, and how matter is created, but Russell reckon we should sit back and have a stubbie and spend our money on food for starving kids,"

There is no point in our existence if we dont try to find an answer for our creation.

@12345Christos No it doesn't you ignorant person. NASA has a budget of about 6 billion US dollars over the next 5 years. That is much less than what it truely deserves. People would much rather spend Trillions of US tax payers money on pointless wars.

Anyway, the money isnt being taken up into the cosmos, the money is being spent in America, on Jobs and the people who get paid for them will then go to American shops and spend more money in America. No money is lost, it is just re-invested.
