After 24 years of service at the Miami Dade County Fair, the Doppel Looping has said goodbye to the Untied States. It had become too expensive for other fairs to afford, so it was sold overseas. On April 13, 2008, the ride closed at the fair for good.

The Doppel Looping has had two different color schemes (that I know of): the first was burnt orange all over, and the second is purple track with white supports.

The ride itself was 28 years old, and the onride experience made sure you knew about it. It went from "just another Schwarzkopf" rough to "hold on tight or pay the consequences" rough.

  • HEY! Anyone remember WAY back in the day when the Doppel Looping used to be All orange and black supports?? This was like 10 years ago, then during the millenium, they gave it the purple paint job we're all familiar with.

  • I don't remember the black supports, but I DO remember that rust-orange track... The first time I saw the purple & white combo, I almost screamed.
