TVQ Ten News Saturday February 11, 1989

With Hugh Cornish, Pam Tamblyn, David Fordham & Noel Stanaway. I'm not sure what local management were thinking in 1989, needless to say Hugh & Pam only lasted one ratings year. Hugh was Qld's first TV news presenter on QTQ in 1959, Pam was an ex TV kids show host on QTQ in the early eighties. Since this time she has ran a successful children's modelling agency. Noel was formally the weather man of BTQ's era of the late 70's to late 80's . From early 1991 he joined Sunshine Telsevision (now 7 QLD) in regional QLD to do the weekday weather before retiring around 1995.

@markusmon1978 Yes, he should did. Not sure when he started, probably in the 70's. Finished around 86 or 87 at BTQ. Wasn't at TVQ that long, maybe a year or so? His last stint doing weather was at Sunshine Television from the start of aggregation from early '91 for a few years before retirement.

Its a shame there isnt any more footage of Pam Tamblyn, she is great!

She was also on the Channel Niners kids show and Westfield young entertainers

No, they made this one off 30 sec promo for the start of ratings period 1989. It was used for a few months and then of course....well Mr Shanks came...and went

Brisbane Ten... I believe TVQ should go back to using that term again, to show some localism.

What a great snippet of Brisbane TV history. Pam was a very likeable personality - from her days as host of the Channel Niners Saturday on QTQ-9 with Ashley Mac. Hugh is a real statesman, being QTQ station manager for many years. Not sure about his role at Brisbane Ten News though!!!

What a clip! I do agree with you - only one phrase for Hugh and that's "oh dear". Very outdated presentation style and awkward delivery.

Would have liked to have seen more of Pam - she seems the only reason to watch "Brisbane Ten News" at the time!
