Mk18 Mod 0 Rusty Ammo Torture Test

After completing the Mk18 Mod 0 build, we decided to take it out and really put it through a torture test of sorts--using rusty, corroded ammo and attempting to find the butter zone where the gun would still run. Like any AR rifle it was a bit finicky but we did find that increasing the cyclic rate made the ammo condition a non-issue. Lesson of the day: Keep your ammo dry!

ahhhh, it hurts me to watch this, putting such a nice rifle through that.

did the barrel expierence any damage? i bet it was a bitch to clean.

when i was in Iraq, a bullet pierced the back armor of our humvess, and hit one of our jerry cans, spilling diesel all over ammunition boxes. When we got back to the FOB, we had so much ammo that we just destroyed the spoiled ammo because we didnt want any jam ups like you were expierencing in combat. Never us dirty/corroded ammo!
