As the third part of the Fusion Essentials range this huge tutorial covers jazz harmony from the basics of diatonic 7th harmony and common jazz/fusion chord progressions, through to tri-tone substitution and more complex subjects such as back-cycling for melody harmonisation. The tutorial also introduces the student to the concepts and harmony required for changes based playing, an essential element of the jazz/fusion sound. Chord/Scale theory and methods for learning the fretboard are covered along with practice techniques to develop ability over simple or complex changes.

This is the biggest tutorial so far on the site and includes: -
1.5 hours of video tuition in Full 1080p HD
21 Page, highly detailed, PDF document outlining all concepts with tabbed/notated examples
9 supplemental PDF files outlining all required scales and method for learning them, 7th, 9th, 11th and 13th chords, altered chord voicings and basic chord construction method for triads and 7th chords

This can all be yours for the bargain price of just $25! That's less than the cost of a 1 hour private lesson.

Instant Download in .pdf, .mp4 format. (1.3Gb download - dual core or better CPU required for optimum playback) - $25

  • thanks tom, I just bought the lesson... an idea for future video lesson would be a jamalong practice session. I would love to have a teacher telling me to practice this and that scale.. play the 1 3 5 7 from that mode or chord etc... and so on. I would love to get a couple of long practice videos that I could play along to ever day. to both keep my technique at a comfortable level AND by learning patterns, shapes, arpeggios and scales at the same time. please do that!! ;)

  • @MyLifeChanger Funny you should say that! It might just be on the list already! ;-)

  • @tq105 wow that would make me very happy to see! I have a very busy schedule each day at work, so when I come back at home to play my guitar I'm often tired and I don't have a clue what to practice... So I play the some stuff over and over again, I get fed up playing those shitty licks and put the guitar down. I would love to get more structured in my practice time!

When do you think you will have that video out?

  • @MyLifeChanger Sometime in the new year. There's a few more things to come out first but all are linked to specific practice routines so should be useful to you! Stay tuned to the site.

  • Hey Tom. Does this package include licks? Best regards Esben

  • @Esbenmad Hi Esben - this is more a chord based tutorial so contains example chord progressions and voicings. The changes playing section is more theory based so no licks in this one. The future 'practice session' videos on changes playing will contain many example phrases though so stay tuned! Thanks.

  • Great lesson. Just the article about learning the fretboard alone was worth the $25 to me. It really makes it much easier to visualize things on the fret board. I can definitely see why you tune in 4ths now.

  • hi tom.

is this lesson same as Playing Over Changes lesson on infinateguitar?

  • Tom, Is it possible to upload a little preview of this lesson?

  • PURCHASE THIS TUTE!

Probably the most important tute for the versatile, gigging musician.
