Since 1999, the Sauder School of Business Co-op program has provided students with the opportunity to develop business skills, accelerate their learning, and clarify their career goals. During the Co-op Program students alternate 4- or 8-month terms of paid employment with their academic studies. By the end of the program, students will have gained 12 months of relevant work experience that builds their confidence and their business networks.

Our Co-op hiring is a really, really important part of our talent acquisition strategy here at SAP. We know that the students of today possess the skills that we, as an organization, need for tomorrow and the energy and innovation and the new way of thinking that Sauder students bring to us really enables our business to achieve both its long term and short term goals. We really see an opportunity for us, as an organization, to help develop the talent and mentor the city's talent because we hope that this'll be our talent tomorrow.

The skills that the students bring (and maybe the "attributes" is a better way to phrase it), is a fresh approach. They're eager, they have a wanting for knowledge, they want to learn things, so they're very, very inquisitive. They're always very friendly, they fit in very well. I think they're outstanding in a way.

The Sauder Co-op staff have been an absolutely fantastic partner to us throughout our experience at UBC. Not only do they help us with the posting and the placement, but they're very involved throughout the work term of the students' time with us and on the follow up that happens after they've completed their term.
