BOB DOWNE (the comic creation of Mark Trevorrow) really hit his stride in London with THE BOB DOWNE SPECIAL, his very own New Year's Eve TV show, with guest stars Ant & Dec, the late Anthony Newley and Martine McCutcheon. It was also Bob's chance to get 'em roaring with laughter in the huge, atmospheric London Weekend Television Studio 1. Here's a classic Bob monologue - a hilarious inside report on his recent appearance on The Royal Variety Performance. Broadcast 31 Dec 1996 on ITV, with legendary Music Director LAURIE HOLLOWAY.

Bob Downe is a great comedy character. I love this vid....so bloody funny! but I wish I could find the sketch where Bob does shop mannequin pose's. And I also wish he had been in more Kath & Kim episodes.
