My father took me to automobile thrill shows when I was a boy in the 50's and 60's. He was influenced by the late Lucky Teter of the 30's who was renown for his 100 foot ramp-to-ramp jump (which eventually killed him). I was captivated by the precision driving, stunts and crashes performed by Joie Chitwood and rival Tournament of Thrills. At age seven, I was doing rollovers in my pedal car. As an adult, I studied film footage and spoke with drivers from both professional shows. I was ready for the real thing. Owning a video production company gave me the opportunity to perform a variety of car stunts for advertising agencies. These included car rolls, ramp-to-ramp jumps, 2-wheeling, drifts and water submersion. Although the stunts were mild, safety was always paramount and neither my crew nor I were ever hurt.
