Wasn't Shwartz a "german ninja" before encountering the Devil Gundam and being replaced by a double? I mean no one knew what the dude looked like so no one questioned any changes. And the Devil Gundam didn't seem to change anything about the Shadow Gundam so it had all that ninja stuff before the main plot began. If you think of it like that, there really was no reason to suspect anything.
