Democratic change has been demanded across the Middle East. But was what seems like a spontaneous revolution actually a strategically planned event, fabricated by 'revolution consultants' long in advance?

Revolution consultants are the worst nightmare of every regime. Srdja Popovic was a founder of the organisation 'Otpor', a revolution training school. It was instrumental in the overthrow of Slobodan Milosevic in the 1990s and has now inspired a new generation of activists. Political commentators like William Engdahl are convinced Otpor is being financed by the USA. "The people from Otpor gave us a book in which they described all their strategies", says Ezzedine Zaatour of the Tunisian uprising. That book was written by an American, Gene Sharp, and is now considered the "revolution guide book", being used by opposition movements worldwide. As Optor release their latest gadget, a resistance training computer game sponsored by American organisations, world leaders are voicing their concerns. "This is called a gentle coup!", insists Hugo Chavez.

  • @mudrac How is OTPOR funded by the CIA if it's in the CIA's best interests to keep the dictators it brings to power alive?

  • @TrueFactsMission Can anybody with common sense really claim that Ben Ali was not puppet or france, Mubarrak best friend of America, as well as Saudis or Bahrein which helds the pifth fleet. Wake up from stupid idea that CIA or FSB are behind everything in the world - the cld war is over, and Washington and Moscow are equally terryfied because of this. These nonviolent revolutions are authentic, and likely to spread arround west and east equally!

  • The BBC reports that revolution trainers from Serbia and the US are on trial in Egypt:

  • @rahagbab Revolution and uncertainty is far from beneficial or good for oil prices. The fighting and uncertainty in oil rich countries cause panic in the markets, which causes oil prices to go up and up. The freedom fighters may promise better oil prices in the future when they have power but the problem with that is the cost in the meantime and not knowing how long the fighting will go on. Or if they will ever succeed. It really isn't beneficial. Doesn't mean they don't do it though.

  • @blacktjack101 Are you a troll?

  • @rahagbab

You don't get it, do you?

It's not about dictatorship and democracy.

  • @rahagbab It is my opinion that the reason is because they are changing their tactics. I think something big is in store and while they want to ensure who is in power next, of course, it's just that it is my opinion that they are actually trying to ENSURE that which they have told everyone to fear will take power for the expansion of an unnamed country. (ahem)

  • they trying to pull it out now in RUSSIA,

  • @rahagbab today in america you have OWS and people want change, but just like people from OTPOR wanted change the people were used by CIA with the help from George Soros that funded OTPOR just so that can bring down Milosevic and just so they can create ''new, good Serbia.A country that will inspire a lot of countries in this world''...and now Serbia(my country) is in total SHIT!!!

  • @rahagbab it is not a question "how it is funded" it is funded by DOLLARS. EUROS, whatever , why do you care. Ithis Funding is a FAKT! think about that!

CIA change the puppet, from an enemy to a friendly to usa one.

  • I never knew that truth has such many different forms.

  • @Htogrom Well I guess it makes sense now. CIA dumps money on some disillusioned "freedom fighter" to spark revolution in exchange for better oil prices than the previous "freedom fighter" had ever given. With the bonus if creating a feeling of revolution midst the people, keeping them content for another decade or so.

    Brilliant concept, I must say.
