@CharlieDeLisle First off, the 310 dislikes is because it isn't fucking Zakk Wylde, it's Curt Mitchel.

Secondly, if you're assuming that he can't play the riff with just downpicking, you're fucking stupid. Curt Mitchel plays Van Halen flawlessly which is light years more difficult to do than the hardest Metallica song is.

Some people just don't like the staccato sound of downpicking. Doesn't mean they suck. NeoGeo plays the song without downpicking and he's a fucking god.

@CharlieDeLisle i didnt want to teach you anything or to deny your experience as a guitarist ( which is unproven to me ) but there are many ways of playing a riff , and this guy choosed the one who fitted him the best . its not written anywhere to play the riff of master of puppets only with downpicking , as its not written anywhere that james hetfield plays this wrong . you sir are a very narrow-minded person if you think that there is only one way of playing this riff

@CharlieDeLisle its called economy of motion . if u use downpicking a lot then you are doing a lot more motion , then when using alternate picking. p.s :im romanian so ou might notice , that i dont speak english very well...
