How Bicyclists are treated by the motorists in the city of Bangalore.

The Bikers - Nikhil and Rohan.
The non bikers in the video -
MC Jagadish (Tree Warden, Lalbagh) and his friends.

How all this started out - A quiet group of bikers to promote cycling in the city was in Lal Bagh to be video taped by TV9(a local TV Channel) and Rohan and Nikhil were on the way out when MC Jagadish and his friends stopped them to question what they were doing. The initial accusations and mindless questions asked by MC Jagadish and friends are not caught on camera.

The end was rather abrupt where some other guards of MC Jagadish decided to take matters in their own hands and man handle Nikhil and Rohan and throw them onto the roads.

Its a shame that someone like a Tree Warden in this Garden city can be as uncouth as this !

  • I myself don't agree on the "Chicks Dig ... " thing. What the man had there was a completely valid point, why are we trying to only inspire college guys and people who can read english and understand the meaning of "chicks" and "dig"?! Motivate people by cycling and having positive slogans. I use a cycle myself to travel all the places. I don't blame the bikers too, they were at the wrong place with the wrong slogan with only a right interest. Won't work most of the time.

  • umm... this was just one slogan. There were many many many many many many many more

  • b'coz you have to ask yourself this question ..."Am i talking bout encouraging cycling" or "am I making a statement on chicks" ? because the latter is only for getting young guys attention particularly....i dunno whether present day girls would have responded to a t-shirt slogan like that. don't take it personal...its just my opinion. i do have to say this but...whoever that guy was in the white (not the deserving colour) shirt to push you out. He's a barbaric animal with no manners!

  • Rohan and Nikhil, I'm afraid i do agree with MetalUrge about the "Chicks Dig"...it was not really necessary to put this slogan at a time like this. it got the wrong attention. your intentions however was good bout encouraging ppl to use cycles more than bikes. like Urge also said... you could have had a motivated message for all - guys, girls, uncles, aunts.

  • You're welcome to leave it!!

We in Bangalore could do with less people and more trees!

  • Man, you are a patronizing - MY friend, MY (wo)man - My My!! Where did you learn the language? GRE classes?

And yes, you should encourage the drive - you ride too? And I mean a bicycle!

I am impressed with your clarity about the slogan, Ajay - or isn't it an assumption?

Don't 'sleep over' the question - it is rhetorical - am just yanking your chain!! :-)

  • The immaturity in your argument is appalling. Grow up, my (wo)man. You know the cause was just. The drive that these people organized must be encouraged. Don't let your prejudice drive you into an avoidable misunderstanding.

Sex seems to be your context of choice here, when the slogan clearly had nothing to do with it. Please sleep over it and rethink your conclusion.

(I'm sincerely hoping you understand what "sleep over it" means..)

  • I cannot believe anyone can be as NAIVE as you.

Don't you really know what "Chics dig my ride" can mean in the sexual context?

    Chics....Ride??? Ring a bell??

  • I completely agree.

  • man balls to the bloody oldies...No wonder bangalore or rather india is crumbling wit traffic woes..thanx to the bloody old politicians...boy u hv my vote..gud work...thanx to the gud samaritan who shot tis video...

  • MC Jagadish's mother is most likely to be dead now. Though the intentions are really good, that is no way to converse with your elders. Imagine, this, if someone who is as arrogant as Rohan bumps into your dad and starts shouting on his face. Most likey, u'll have his balls on the platter.

  • omg...lmao...rofl...:D :D :D

  • They were probably doing that in Lal Bagh man - and you guys had to go and say Chics Dig YOUR ride and ask them to cycle instead!!!

    How smart is THAT?? :-)

  • this "biker" is pretty damn arrogant... How the hell does he expect to strike an argument with the locals by wearing something "cool" and questioning the local uncles... adu lalbagh alli bere...
