Yes, every culture believes that marriage is between a man and a woman . Including the native americans, who call them "two spirits," and consider them special. Including the buddhists, who don't actually care. Including Islam, where a man and several women can marry. Including Christian and Jewish figures such as Abraham, King Solomon, etc.

The bible doesn't say gays can't get married. It says you have to kill them. So Christians, how about you stop being against gay marriage, since you're not required to be, and start showing your true colours?

To borrow a (particularly apt) term from nuclear physics, they lack critical mass. They have large numbers and lots of money and power, but they are still at the point where if they tried something like this, they would be eaten alive. When (not if, if nothing changes) they have a 90% fundamentalist majority...

@1RadicalOne They already have the numbers and resources. That's the scary thing.

If they get the numbers or the resources, they will.
-
@1RadicalOne Which is the reason Christians will never succeed in that particular movement.

Rick Warren at 1:59 "I don't even believe what I believe' = best Freudian slip.

Every single time we have a human civil rights issue in this country the religious right argues that they don't think it'd be right to give the people their rights because "they" would have to change some definition. Blacks would no longer be the "Children of Hamm", women would no longer be "made specifically for man's use", and now marriage would no longer be "between a man and a woman". Though we know on the last that it obviously hasn't always been between a man and a woman.
