This magical experience is thanks to Aurasma -- a ground breaking augmented reality app that lets users add realistic 3D wildlife to the world around them.

Visitors to London's Southbank can marvel at the world's largest bear, usually native to the Arctic Circle, floating down the River Thames on an iceberg as if in its natural habitat.

Simply download Aurasma, a free application available from the Apple App Store for the iPhone3GS, 4, 4S and iPad2 and use the app to create the scene.

Aurasma uses advanced image recognition technology to identify and understand images, objects and places in the real world, and then blends them with videos and 3D animations called "auras".

Users of Aurasma can use the simple tools in the app to add their own 3D animals and characters to the world around them using one of the hundreds of animations available in Aurasma's library.

Your auras can then be shared with friends and family -- enabling anyone who follows you on Aurasma to marvel at the virtual wildlife you've set free in the real world.

Download the app from the App Store here: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/aurasm...

Download Aurasma from Android Marketplace here: http://bit.ly/tHibPU

3D support is currently only available for iOS versions of Aurasma. But watch this space, 3D support for Android version is coming soon.
