you cannot immagine, like it was that days..in germany thers no speed limit. cars in the late sixties early 70 had top speed between 120 and 160 km/h..a car reaching 180 was like today to run 300... and big mercedes reached even 200..only some porsche and bmw could affort that speed..no audi opel ford or vw from that days where that fast..mercedes on the autobahn in the mirror..just moove to the right lane and let him pass..

most modern cars with small modern engines won't even get to 160km/u and this old great mercedes drives 190km/u. Classy german quality.

this is the most MB ever built....
The sound is (normally) nice.
I had a similar one, that was tuned.
My 250_2.8CE made 210KM/h.
A very nice car with beautiful 6cyl

I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old DOHC Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps injection and tank clean and rustfree
