  • phonetics- study of the sounds of language. all possible sounds that can be made by the human vocal apparatus

    phonology- study of phonemes, which are particular to a language. distinctions in sounds that make a meaningful difference in the language. eg, p and b. in english, these are distinctive and result in different words. pat and bat. but in japanese, r and l are not distinguished, so when they learn english, they have trouble with this.

  • The sound quality could have been better. Subtitles might be of great help as well.
