My next question is this: How much respect do we afford a general? Do we as civillians revere and honor, even obey him as the mighty warrior who defends us from evil? There is too much worship of the military in our society. I served honorably. I didn't need, want, or demand thanks. Point be told, officers were the elitist ones. Most thought enlisteds were peasants. I'm glad she put him in his place.

There Hannity goes again! Trying to bring down someone ideologically opposed by tapping into anti-elitist sentiment. What did the general call the male senators? It is wrong to address someone who has a title as "sir' or "maam." The general showed his contempt by calling her "maam,' intentional or not. Would you call a judge "maam" at sentencing? Ask a lawyer if that's a good idea.

The reason it was an issue for her was because ALL THE OTHER SENATORS were being referred to as just that EXCEPT for her. They were being sexist and she wasn't putting up with it. Good for her and shame on you for not showing the whole clip.

how dare such an insignificant general call me ma'am? you may have earned your title after decades of unwavering military service to our country, but i bought and deceived my way into congress and managed to abuse my power for years and years. and that was hard work too.
