This works for the cart too if you're on blu. If you're engineer and you go up the stairs that open upon capturing the 1st point on 1st stage of Goldrush, you can set up and get metal from standing above the cart.

@steampunkerella Perhaps the dispenser uses a healing stream (similar to the medic's) for health, but uses a radius of effect for ammo/metal. In that case, the healing stream would be expected to be broken by walls the same as mediguns.
