Thanks for posting this. Love this song, as a kid here in the states I imagined what this ferry would look like and at long last have been able do so. Been to the UK often, but never near the Mersey. A few years back we were invited to a wedding and were going to stay in Manchester. Planning the trip, this song echoed in my mind constantly. Unfortunately, there was a family situation that prevented us from going. Next year, when my youngest is in college, I promised my wife we would go.

Yes,that's right. It is spelled skiffle, and please excuse my typo. I certainly stand corrected. But, I would still consider the intro/beat of this tune as a "skiffle type" beat. Even though most of their music would not be considered skiffle,they certainly hail from the birthplace of it.
