Illyana Rasputin was the first Magik, before Amanda Sefton took over. Created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum, Illyana joined the X-Men in 1975. She is, of course, a human mutant, born on a collective farm in Siberia. She can teleport, travel through time, and do magic, and she has used lots of aliases, including Darkchylde, Lightchylde, and Redflag. Her two older brothers are also mutants. In animations and video games, she has been voiced by Tara Strong and Jeannie Ellis. Music is "The Internacional," national anthem of the Soviet Union.

  • Illyana really works better as an "evil" character. The version of her existing in "Earth-23238" wasn't only a supreme sorcerer/darkchyld/demon, making that Illyana even more epic was that she was only around 10-11 years old at most. Still, she was a really good villain. That timeline mostly seemed to have been played for laughs though and I never saw any more of that version of her.

  • Good to see Magik, i am a fan of the old N Mutants from th 80, on Ilyana s case i guess they made some great sotrylines with her , but left her on the sidelines for many time, they even killed her for a time during the awful legacy saga. Great video, this one could have had more classic stuff, like the first New Mutants series , or Inferno a crossover that originated on Magik s limbo.

  • well that was coll but now about some old shit from thbe 80s

  • Not bad. But you seemed to miss any referance to her best friend Kitty in the friend section, and the official figure in the figure section.

  • If the ever is a movie, I hope Marina Orlova (HotForWords) plays Ms. Rasputin!

    Perfect fit! ~_^
