Rep. Langevin: "When I was injured in an accidental shooting as a young police cadet only 26 years ago, I was told that I would never walk again. The promise of embryonic stem cell research was at that time unheard of. While I always held out hope that I would one day walk again it was not until the tremendous potential in advances in the field of stem cell research that I truly understood how a cure might work."

  • Embrionic Stem Cell Research is the solution for many people with difficulties.

  • "This brings the total of successful adult stem cell transplant therapies to somewhere around 80." I searched. First link says this. I did as you ask and it tells me your are wrong. Link after link of success. My friend did not have a "bruised spinal cord" nor did the woman in the link. I offer personal observation and a news story. You offer nothing but denials and a search that proves my point. "Do not speak to a fool for he will scorn the wisdom of your words." You are and we are done.

  • Well done mate.

  • Well said James.

  • oh waa waa. Promise of a cure by destroying someone else's life. Bush did the right and moral thing by vetoing the bill.

  • Pete, That is very simple. Bruised spinal cord. Lying? No, simply uninformed.

Now, Sir, go to the internet and simply type-in "Embryonic Stem Cell Successes" Then, type in "Adult Stem Cell Successes"

    We're done!

  • Show you MRIs? How do you explain my friend and this woman? Made-up stories? The news program is lying? I am lying? My friend is lying? Everyone is lying and for what purpose. I searched the net and found more stories of paralyzed people who can now walk. The evidence doesn't seem to support you. You show me the medical journals that say this is all fake.

  • Pete, 1st, your friend was not cured by ESC's. 2nd, show me the MRIs from both your friend and the lady in question. 3rd, the clip, in itself doesn't mean a thing. Science, my friend, the actual injuries and the extent of those injuries help to explain how these people were helped. And finally, this clip means nothing. I rely on scientific proof...Not on made-up stories of phantom cures, with no scientific method to duplicate the results.

"What is theraputic Embryonic Stem Cell Research"

  • Your logic confuses me. My friend is in a car crash. He is paralyzed. Goes to Europe and has a stem cell operation. He is now waking and you are telling me that it wasn't the stem cells? The lady in the news story. Paralyzed. Has operation. Weeks later she in rehab with use of her legs. Again not the operation? Why will you not address this clip? What could have done this then? Prayer maybe? I will search what you have suggested. Will you do the same and look at respond to the clip here?

  • Pete, I suggested that you research ESCR Successes. Now, my friend, either research proven successes, show those documented successes and post them for all to see. Just because someone says they had a severed spinal cord, doesn't mean they did.

But, since you haven't researched ESCR Successes,,,try typing into the internet search for those successes and list them.

I would recommend that you also research Adult Stem Cell Research and look at the total number of success this proceedure has.
