I finally got some time to jam to some covers of some covers - lol. Still didn't have enough time to polish or do what I like. Nonetheless, this new cover album released by Streetlight is pretty cool... Not as much trombone stuff... so I played some of the solos from other instruments, haha.

For those of you who wanted to know:
No, I do not know Streetlight Manifesto personally or somehow have their music. From what I understand, Streetlight memorizes and improvises their parts, so here's what I do... I sit down with my mp3 player and trombone and listen. After I have what I want to come out of my horn in my head, I play until it sounds right. You won't be able to do this quickly at first, but after lots of practice, you will be able to play things right after hearing them. It's not magic... and you don't need perfect pitch. It also helps to know basic knowledge about major and minor keys (especially without perfect pitch). I wish you all fellow instrument players good luck, and have fun doing what you do :)

1. They Provide the Paint for...
2. Me and Julio Down by the School Yard
3. Troubadour (Bari Sax & Tenor Sax solos)

  • Wow, it's been a while... This has gotten a little attention... Haha, I took it so seriously then. My trombone professor would probably frown upon this... or laugh... mostly laugh I think. Thanks for all the kind and loltastic comments. I should probably post a video soon... Hopefully you all think I've improved at least a little bit.

  • AWESOME! :D

I was hoping you'd do the punk rock girl solo though!

  • @theforsakenpiggies Oh yeah, I forgot there was one in there :)

  • @theforsakenpiggies Done. With a good friend of mine. On plastic trombones! Haha check it out :D

  • Dude, you are awesome. I am extremely glad that you covered, *takes a deep breath,* "They provide the paint for the picture perfect masterpiece that you will paint on the insides of your Eyelids". I've been meaning to learn that, but I haven't gotten time to try to learn it by ear. Once again, you are very, very awesome.

  • what bone do you have ... jazz ???

  • Bravo again dude. You're pretty damn good

  • love streetlight. love your playing. continue doing what you do

  • @Purezam12 I'm a trumpet player and these songs are great to play once you can figure them out. Some of the sax parts are very very cool, too.

  • AH, this gives me more motivation to start learning some sax parts/solos. I sorta know the solos in Riding the Fourth Wave, and when I play them at school some of the kids are impressed. Time to turn it up a notch. You are great at what you do, and I will try to follow. :)

  • i think you nailed and killed it with troubador. too bad you in alabama, gainsville is only like 2:30 hours away, go join a ska band

  • i love this album. i wish u played trombone at my skool. we all listen to ska and u would be loved.
