I absolutely disagree with Obama extending this, but we have to remember that this extension involves more than just one person. We focus far too much on the president alone. We need to extend our focus to the other 2 branches of government as well. The House passed it by a 250-153 vote. It also passed the Senate by a 72-23 vote. And our Supreme Court is just sitting back and allowing the Constitution to be violated. We need to spend an equal amount of time looking at the other branches.

Yes the Patriot Act, was put into place to go after American Patriots, that would stand up against the corruption in government. I'm not saying Canada is near perfect. Harper's fervent desire to turn this whole country into a giant parking lot has me frustrated too, but I still think it's eons away from the cesspit of corruption that the American government is revealing itself to be. At least we have the Conflict of Interest Act.
