@kannepis yeah i've got '04 Yaris and I can beat a lot of nice cars too but I don't think its any match for an Formula one car, that is just beyond its specs noooooooooo way.

@Casquetron Ok...I''ve tried to be nice, but you clearly don't know what you're talking about. The Yaris comes with a wide variety of engines and transmissons in other parts of the world, including 1.0, 1.3, 1.5 and 1.8L gas engines, as well as a 1.4L diesel. The Euro-spec TS comes with the 133 hp 1.8L, 6 speed tranny and 4 wheel disc brakes. All N. American-spec Yaris, including Canada, come with only 1 engine option, the 1.5L gas engine and either a 4 speed auto or 5 speed manual tranny.

@firstmusic00 it's 5 speed, and if it were why couldn't you get it? the 1.8 Yaris is only available in Canada so it can't be that hard.

@firstmusic00 sad thing is #1 the 1.8 yaris is 5 speed not 6, #2 the 1.8 is the same as the Dx, has dual vvti designed for economy thus holding the car back, 1.5 0-60 in 8secs 1.8 0-60 in 10 secs.

Well...that's not the garden variety Yaris we get here in the US...but rather the 1.8 version with a fair bit more power and a 6 speed tranny, along with 4 wheel disc brakes. Still though...seems very unlikely...though it is a Toyota commercial. So they can show whatever they want to.
