The way she giggles; the looks; the smiles; the way her breath catches after a close moment; even the way she flushes are a great piece of acting and directing. All the elements are cliché in the romantic genre, but I've never seen them all delivered so effectively in a movie on one scene. The music is excellent as is the expression and hand gesture of Ms Bates. I also like the fact the the dance looks real in the sense that the couples are not lined up in straight lines.

What a scene... I love dancing in period dramas so much. Why can't we dance like this anymore? It's so elegant and graceful!!

Notice how Emma stops giggling and actually smiles when she dance with Mr. Knightley. :) I love him!!!

Oh my dear Ginny... I find myself drawn tragically between Downton Abbey and darling Emma... I simply must cut my person in two, so I may enjoy both at the same time...
Or I could get two of those 'magic boxes' and place them side by side, with my fan of course, the vapours are still upon me,unfortunately.... Pah!!
*Ahh, much better ... Now that would be PURE bliss* :0)X

@akhrojjamal ... Why I thank you most humbly, for your 'cute & brief' reply... to watch 'Darling Knightley' and 'Dearest Emma' dance, is surely a splendid occupation. for a lady, on a wet and windy day... Is it not?
Best regards to you from Wales ... :0)x

Goodness me, 2 months have passed and i have not been entertained at the Assemble rooms. for shame, i must remedy that immediately... I cannot pass an opportunity to watch Knightley and dearest Emma dance...
Sitting by an open window, to cool my vapours, with a very large fan, and quite a large glass of cordial too... *sighs and sips again with sincere pleasure*
Best wishes as always dear Genie, from Wales ... :0)x

Dearest Genie, hello once again.
What can I say, drawn as I am to this marvellous assembly.. Both Knightley and Emma, do you credit my dear, they shine upon the dance floor sweeping away all the grey characters at once. Especially that odious 'Mrs E' and her 'caro espouso' too.. Pah I would not waste my worst fan upon either of the silly creatures..
No, let us both sit, relax and enjoy the wonders that our eyes shall feast upon this very evening, my very best regards dear lady... :0)x

My very best wishes to you from Wales UK ... :0)x

I sure you could and I thank you for it... Ahh, there.. Now to sit and watch 'Knightley' and 'Dearest Emma' dance... *sighs and sips cordial* :0)x
