Eye Tracking technology allows you to climb inside users' heads and see your website through their eyes. It lets you see where they look, what they pay most attention too - and most importantly, what they miss. Visit www.etre.com for more information.

Fantastic. I think it has a missing point. The red banner has a very simple and reconizable message, LOGO + RED + SALE - You don't need to read, so maybe it is 100% in the peripheral vision. I considered the black areas with small text very important.

you're missing information that was acquired through peripheral vision, like large banners and list of items where you only have to read the top of it to know what the rest is about

also the implication of this technology as a method of empowering ethically-blind marketing people are seriously worrying

Back in the mid to late 90's researchers figured out that animated banners got less attention than static ads. And yet bozo business owners continue to make animated ones because they think that their uneducated off-the-cuff opinion is more important than a million studies.

Interesting. That let's me know that advertising is loosing it's cool. They will think of new stuff, but I am glad that people didn't even bother to look at the BIG SALE BOX.

I am sick of all advertisement. You see it on tv, hear it on the radio, news papers, internet, schools, streets and highways. I am sick of it. I don't buy anything I see on an add and that's intentional. I go for the cheap stuff too. Price matters, that's it. I can care less since everything comes from china and breaks.
