Wellesbourne Wings and Wheels 2009. XM655 was taxiing down the runway while XH558 was flying above it. A real first, two Vulcans with engines running at the same time, must be 25 years since that last happened. XH558 was on its way from the Netherlands to Kemble airshow, when it stopped by to .do a display above XM655. Fantastic,

  • Bureaucracy will keep it out of the skies. On this day they could not do a fast taxi because bureaucracy said the engines needed testing at high revs before the display. Its a beautiful aircraft but it is outdated.

  • wow can they get her to fly again aswell that would be so cool i had a thought couldn't the vulcan serve the raf again fpr some missions they coukd give the plane a upgrade new cockpit and new systems and cut a deal to keep them flying but as a stand by aircaft if the raf need them for bombing role shes still ahead and the b52 is the same age or older and still going strong why can't the vulcan
