how is it that when i practice from a 17 ft roof top at 15 to 25 yards, i can hit my target where i want it but during last season, it seems like its a whole different story. i hear people telling me always aim lower, but it doesn't seem that way when i try it from a tree stand during practice, any insight?

This is an issue that calls for you to measure the real distance created by the angle. With the new range finders this is the ARC. Oh that simple tip with the string will solve that issue too.

You just draw down a little depending on how far up you are. With my mathews dxt i practice at 20-28 yards in tree stand i bury the pin they call it aim at bottom of center ring.
