THE SHEPS - THE WIND (Fooling around backstage at Lead East 2008)

Four guys from New Jersey and one from New York created an acapella quintet for the sole purpose of giving "props" to the true heroes of R&B! The long forgotten or the artists that people weren't aware made hit songs sung by many other more popular artists. We focus on the rare songs that once people hear it say, "Oh WOW! I remember that song!" The "B" sides that should have been "A" sides. Any group can get out there and sing the "Glorias", "Somewhere Over The Rainbows", "In The Still Of The Night"... Not knocking those great songs, but when is the last time you heard a vocal group attempt "Blue Flowers" or "Call On Me" sung originally by fantastic talented groups like The Strangers or the Mellow-Moods? Some people never even heard of them and it is a shame because these guys were actually the pace-setters for the more popular groups! Along with entertaining the audience, it is our intention to try and educate the crowd about this music. If you truly want to keep this music alive, you should really know it's roots!
