Opening and closing sequence for Solid Gold 80-81 (including host credit and the top ten countdown). I made this one because Tony and Kahea are not in this one! There is some short latin dude and a (IMHO) Pat Benatar look alike instead on the beloved T & K! I have no clue if this was in the very beginning of the season or what, but it is what it is, a rare variation!! Enjoy!

  • Hey LB, just curious. Do you know who the Pat Benatar dancer was at 4:18 of the video?

  • @bkgtubster - sorry I don't.

  • Thanks for posting this. It is great to see Rocky, but it is even better to see Darcel. What a dish she was!

  • Truth be told, 25 years later she still is.

  • Simple chording along with his HIC-UP word ending really makes it a very nice song. Liked the first time I heard it.

  • @bkgtubster Ah...no.

  • For some reason, I remembered him playing a flying V. Maybe I got my Paul Stanley guitars mixed up

  • I remember seeing this episode. I like the song. It's a shame you cannot get the original version on cd today.

  • You're right ronafer69, the mustached male dancer from SG '79 and the Latin mustached male dancer from the early series episodes are not the same man.

  • To me the the short latin dudew/ the mustache wasn't on SG' 79. The guy in Solid Gold '79 had dark brown hair and appears as a dancer in the movie "Xanadu". Check out the video of Xanadu. Plus this guy here is a much better dancer than the one in SG'79.

  • does anybody know where rocky is now? thanks...

  • Yeah that was a great Xanudu dance

and his rhythm is better than Tony's for Upside Down. HOT!
