It's so redicilous, since 1990 there's a option in every browser to control cookies.
You have the option to block etc.
Why don't the people that are bothered by this 'hostile cookies' just use this function.....
I'm more bothered by the annoying popup about cookies!

The cookielaw is very annoying, everytime and every website asking everytime the same again. I prevent the websites who nags with these pop ups forcing to accept.
some people are now accepting all cookies everywhere just to prevent the annoying pop ups.

The government would never interfere like this with other markets. Imagine retailers being forced to ask customers if they're OK with being on security camera before entering a store. There would be uproar from both the industry and customers. They obviously don't respect or understand the internet industry.
Britain wants its own silicon valley, fat chance. This is the last place I'd choose for a start-up.

most of the people here are forgetting is the simple fact that it is only COMMERCIAL and ADVERTISEMENT tracking cookies that have to declare themselves. Authentication tracking, shopping carts, anything to do with the primary function of the website you don't have to display anything about. If you read all of the documentation there are clear examples stating this simple fact. While I agree it's a stupid law and frankly, who gives a toss about it, it's made worse by people overlooking this fact
