The Leymebamba Museum opened in June 2000.
It displays more than 200 mummies and their funeral offerings.
They were recovered in 1997 from the Lagoon of the Condors during an archaeological project directed by the Mallqui Center.

The museum also has a collection of ceramics, hunting weapons and other tools
An ethnographic room compiles the data gathered from the site and includes descriptions of the customs, beliefs, myths, geneology and history of the Chachapoyas and other cultures from the region.
