Preparations: The Coming Dawn
By, Me.
Performed By, Me.

A few weeks ago I sat down for 5 to 10 minutes to improvise in an attempt to lull myself to sleep. When I listened to it the next day, I realized I'd played for about an hour. I liked bits and pieces of it very well, and decided to build a composition out of it.

This then is my first Impromptu. It's very repetitive with varying rhythmic patterns as it moves along. I originally intended for this piece to be about 10 minutes long. However I ended up using it for an audio production course I just finished through Berklee and had to cut it down to fit within time constraints - so all of the main points are present, if a bit crowded together.

I then took this solo piano work and expanded it to a full Soundscape. The Full Soundscape Version can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpCmSRUJdOc
