Xavi is over rated, Carrick is under rated. Watch Xavi week in week out and he doesn't have as much influence on the game on a week to week basis as Carrick does. Carrick is great at intercepting a pass, getting a foot in, lovely passing and making room for himself, so he can pick a nice pass. His movement is excellent and he should be in the England starting side in Africa! Better than Barry by 1000 times

Probably the most underrated player. Sure he is not very noticeable, but what makes up for his weaknesses are his top-notched precision of passes and shots. Seen Carrick's flick pass to Park against Arsenal? Now, that's what I call quality!

Rubbish, he makes less mistakes than most of our players. And he was brilliant in that semi-final until he made that mistake for City's goal.. Had that not happened he'd have been in there for man of the match. He doesn't impose himself on games enough in attacking areas but he does a lot of good, "small" things in that midfield and they're not appreciated enough by a lot of fans who just like goals, attacking and crunching tackles etc.

Action junkies, not football lovers.

You have to repeat things 2 or 4 times to fill a 3 minute "highlight" video for 6 years of carrick. This guy cannot play football at this level and has been exposed as a liability. He was ok at an upcoming spurs and it pains me as he is english but he is simply not good enough. Anyone stupid enough to disagree i ask you to watch him live a few times. he cant pass, tackle, no positional sense, slow. not the attributes of a great player.

I like the little 'I'm shitting myself' shuffle he does whenever anyone gets near him. There must be kids who go to games at Old Trafford that literally think his name is Man On. He looks like some spas who's got lost & found his way onto a football pitch - I half expect him to do a bit of a Rain Man and go mental when he hears the fans cheering (OBVIOUSLY NOT FOR HIM!)
