Invisibleness is Visibleness:
International Contemporary Art Collection of a Salaryman
─ Daisuke Miyatsu

"Gum Monster" by Tanaka Koki is a large-scale installation work the artist has especially recreated personally in Taiwan. The piece uses 3000 rolls of paper tape to create a four-meter high monster of civilization. This is actually intended as a conceptual artwork, and, when Miyatsu collected this piece, he received just an artwork certificate stating his ownership. What he purchased is the most important but intangible aspect of this artwork, which is its "creativity" and not the tangible installation or the medium that the artwork was made with.
